Technology
Computer based technologies are now an integral part of every day life. It is our role to provide access for all students to the latest technologies possible. We have to develop relevant student centred learning programs to ensure children can confidently use technology to further their learning capabilities and skills base. We have to empower students to be technologically capable.
We will do this by:
- Providing all students with equal access to computers.
- Providing purposeful relevant software to enhance their learning.
- Develop integrated programs using computer technologies across all KLAs.
- Provide an arena for collaboration on projects, not only within the campus, state, nationally but internationally as well.
- Provide the opportunity and skills for developing and publishing quality work.
- Promoting the development of information and communication skills through the use of the internet and publishing packages.
At St Andrew's Cathedral School's Gawura campus our students:
- Are supported by a whole campus approach to the teaching of computer skills.
- Will have access to all computer based technologies.
- Where appropriate will have access to teacher selected internet sites for research and publishing.
- Will be involved in group-based projects which enhance social interactivity and cooperation.
- Develop an awareness of the range of applications of computer-based technologies in society.
- Develop the confidence and capability to manipulate computer-based technologies for the task at hand.
