Gawura: A photo essay
This photo essay captures the essence of Gawura itself; a strong learning center for students from Kindergarten to Year 6, important cultural ties to the broader community and the special role played by the families of each student.
In a classroom that is vibrant with colour, uncontainable enthusiasm and eager minds, it is difficult to capture a specific moment in the life of Gawura. The year so far has been fruitful at Gawura Campus, (a School within a School at St Andrew’s), as students engage with academic and co-curricular material, their own identities rooted in the cultures of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as interacting positively with each other. This photo essay is a celebration of this year’s achievements and the recognition of a Campus so bright and big-hearted that words sometimes fail to encapsulate its worth.
