'The Rabbits'
In preparation of NAIDOC Week, the celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and achievements, students from Gawura and the Junior School have been working tirelessly to present John Marsden’s award winning book, The Rabbits, during the Head of School Assembly on Wednesday 25 June 2008 in the Cathedral.
Proclaimed ‘Picture Book of the Year’ by the Children’s Book Council, The Rabbits is a symbolic fable which parallels the real history of colonisation in Australia and around the world.
It was wonderful see so many parents, friends and relatives of students from Gawura and the Junior School come to witness their amazing story performance.
Thank you to the School staff, parents and particularly to the students who put together this wonderful production.
