Your gift to the Gawura Scholarship Fund enables First Nations students to embark on a life-changing educational journey, supported from Kindergarten to Year 12.
With a Gawura First Nations Scholarship, students join a coeducational school community where First Nations culture is visible and valued, embedded in the curriculum, and where they enjoy an outstanding education in a close, supportive, learning community in the heart of Sydney.
Being part of a broader independent school, our students have access to all that a St Andrew’s Cathedral School education offers. Such as, outstanding facilities, expert teaching staff, co-curricular activities including visual arts, drama, music and sport, and premium camping and outdoor educational experiences

Starting Kindergarten in the unique Kindergarten to Year 6 Gawura School – an award winning 100% First Nations ‘school within a school’- students learn in small classes, with intensive literacy and numeracy support, and with connection to community and culture deeply woven into daily learning experiences.
In Year 7 to Year 12, students progress to St Andrew’s Cathedral School’s Secondary School, where they enjoy targeted academic support, an enriched cultural curriculum, and supportive mentoring.
We build futures by helping each student find their voice and discover their unique gifts – supporting them to turn these into strengths and opportunities, and equipping them with the wisdom, skills, and confidence to become hope-filled leaders for a more just tomorrow.
