Whether you attend an event, make a donation, share a story at work, recognise an important cultural moment, speak up against injustices or simply take time to learn more – your involvement makes a difference.
Gawura School and our Gawura First Nations Scholarship students have had a transformative impact on St Andrew’s Cathedral School. Both Schools share a Restoration Action Plan (RAP) with an emphasis on equity and justice, creating a foundation for a true partnership.
The shared First Nations K-12 Strategic Plan has a vision of ‘Empowering confident, hope-filled champions of a just tomorrow’. Ultimately, we want the example of our Schools to inspire hope and action in others.

Become an ally and be part of our community
Our Gawura First Nation Scholarships and programmes exist because of strong and committed relationships between students, families, community, staff and supporters who believe in the power of an authentic education grounded in culture, care and outstanding learning opportunities.
Being part of this community means walking alongside First Nations students and families, sharing in their journeys, and helping create supported pathways through school and beyond.
Why not become an ally and show your support.

“Volunteering at Gawura School started as a spark of curiosity. I’ve always loved reading, teaching and wanted to learn more about First Nations culture in a meaningful way. After volunteering at Gawura School for over a year, I can truly say that it is the highlight of my week. Watching the growth in the students reading abilities has been inspiring. The students have a vibrant energy and an eagerness to learn that makes you thrilled to turn up at the campus. I would highly recommend anyone who is thinking about volunteering to do so! I can confidently say that the students will teach you as much as you can teach them in a way that will stay with you forever.”
