Partnership overview

Partner with the Gawura Scholarship Fund

  • Work with a proven educational model and award-winning school. Both our Schools have a long-term commitment to justice and restoration for First Nations students, families and communities.
  • Be part of a transformational journey that directly addresses inequality in Australia by investing in a high-quality, culturally responsive education that creates meaningful change in the lives of First Nations students.
  • Bring your Reconciliation Action Plan to life. Strengthen your social responsibility by aligning with initiatives that promote equity and restoration for First Nations families that may link to your Reconciliation Action Plan measures.
  • Engage your team by providing employees with worthwhile volunteering opportunities that invest in literacy initiatives for First Nations students.
  • Align your values with an educational approach that is actively nurturing and empowering the next generation of First Nations champions for a just future.

By investing in the lives of First Nations students, you invest in long-term change, for families and communities.

Together, we are not simply funding education, we are investing in equity, empowering the next generation of First Nations young people.

Every journey is different, but every journey makes a difference.

From joining the police force, to setting up a First Nations design studio, or working as a psychologist or lawyer advocating on behalf of First Nations communities, to raising a family grounded in culture and community, our alumni and students are making a difference in all sorts of places and spaces.

Our partners have invested in long-term or multi-year Scholarship pathways, others have funded programmes that strengthen literacy, wellbeing, cultural identity and future opportunity.

Together, these investments remove barriers to learning, and help First Nations students flourish academically, socially and culturally. With this support, First Nations young people grow strong in culture and identity, find their voice, discover their strengths and are equipped to pursue purposeful futures.

Strategic and multi-year partnerships

Some partners choose to create impact at scale. Their investments can deliver a transformational impact across a year group of students, or cohort, or provide support for a ‘whole of school’ programme.

  • Multi-year Scholarship pathways for a cohort of students.
  • Multi-year ‘whole of school’ programmes such as wellbeing or cultural learning experiences.
  • Multi-year support for immersive On Country tours.

These partnerships provide long-term certainty and stability for students, families and initiatives. With our focus on First Nations young people and education, a strategic partnership can align strongly with your organisational social impact and RAP priorities.

Individual Scholarship pathways

Some partners choose to change a student’s life by providing access to a culturally responsive education, and outstanding co-curricular opportunities and facilities, where a young person can reveal and develop their strengths.

  • Junior School or Secondary School Scholarships
  • Multi-year Scholarship commitment to a student

With the success and growth of students progressing from Gawura School through to Year 7 and secondary years, our greatest need is to support the educational pathways for First Nations students through the secondary years. Our demand for secondary scholarships has increased by over 50% in three years.

Support a Secondary student to build their future.

Walk alongside us

We seek new partners to walk alongside us and support our students to continue to access life-changing education and opportunities.

Targeted programmes

Some partners choose to invest in targeted programmes that make the greatest difference to First Nations student outcomes. While others are passionate about supporting cultural connection, truth-telling and reconciliation through practical action.

  • Speech and occupational therapy packages
  • One-on-one counselling packages
  • Mentoring programmes
  • School-based training and specialised TAFE programmes
  • Weekly First Nations dance programme
  • Immersive On Country experiences and tours
  • Cultural learning experiences
  • Work experience opportunities
  • Music tuition and instrument hire packages
  • Outdoor education and camps
  • And much more.

Whether you are looking to support one student, one programme, or a broader initiative or multi-year partnership, we welcome the opportunity to explore how your investment can help create lasting educational opportunity and stronger futures for First Nations students and communities.

Workplace giving is a simple, tax-effective way to support the Gawura Scholarship Fund through regular pre-tax salary donations. Donations are deducted automatically from your salary, meaning you receive the tax benefit immediately rather than waiting until tax time. Regular giving helps provide reliable, ongoing support for Gawura First Nations Scholarships and support programmes.

How it works

If your employer offers workplace giving, you can nominate the Gawura Scholarship Fund and choose a donation amount to be deducted each pay cycle. Donations are made from pre-tax income to a registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), making workplace giving one of the easiest ways to support long-term educational impact.

Check with your People & Culture or Payroll team to see if workplace giving is available. If the Gawura Scholarship Fund is listed, simply opt in and select your donation amount. If we are not currently listed, you can ask your employer to add us.

If your workplace does not offer workplace giving, you can still support the Fund through Monthly Giving.

Why workplace giving matters

Regular donations help provide ongoing support for First Nations students throughout their educational journey. Together, workplaces and employees can help create lasting educational opportunity and generational change.
